Mission

Our mission is to support youth programs in our community and beyond. We are located inside BE on Edgewood at 381 Edgewood Ave SE. We currently sponsor reading incentives for neighborhood youth, as well as programs that focus on educational, economic, and spiritual empowerment.

Our goal is to provide such excellent customer service that our interactions build community and bring as many smiles to our customers as our ice cream and pops do.

History

The Purpose Pops ATL company grew out of a school fundraiser to support an overseas service trip to Central America. A group of students was faced with the task of raising funds to contribute to the school in which they were serving and doing a construction project during spring break. One student suggested selling ice cream pops during lunch. Sales went so well that they raised more than 4x their goal! The teacher sponsoring this trip decided to try her luck at doing the same thing during the summer. The rest is history!

The founder, Bahji Varner, is a former educator who is passionate about providing youth with empowering and culturally enriching experiences. She is a mother of three awesome young people and recognizes the importance of strong communities in supporting the growth of healthy youth and a healthier world. Selling ice cream offers the opportunity to meet people and build community one smile at a time.
